I do not usually write reviews, but this little shocked me. For $ 125 more to get over 1600 dual core, 2 GB of RAM, Windows 7, a wireless keyboard and mouse and VESA mount (the included). And the dual core will make a difference if playing 1080p source material.

Sure to download the beta version of Flash 10. 1 using the processor hardware acceleration of ions or be disappointed. Also need the latest drivers from NVIDIA. I’m playing both movies through Media Player Classic – Home Cinema and use the PC to run the latest beta version of Boxee that while some mistakes really is fun to play. Boxee consolidate your media library on your PC or network shares (I’m using a server UNRAID, which is great as a media server) with the content from the Internet (TV, movies, applications, etc. You Tube. .) Thinking playing with XBMC following (what Boxee is based on).

The HDMI output works great for both video and audio (not all outputs HDMI audio support PC as I found out the hard way). There is a utility with NVIDIA graphics to the desktop size exactly to the dimensions of flat-screen (no need to play with the TV aspect ratio).

While it is not my use a PC would be extra large for children or their families if all you do is navigate, with an occasional word document here or there.

The PC is very quiet, just do not hear anything and kept cool and comfortable.

Highly recommended, but I guess you already knew!

I started with a desire to find a PC capable of playing HD content with a small form factor that I could connect to the projector mounted on the ceiling of my living room. I started with the revolution of 1600, but the central processing unit of a single core of this unit was not enough to handle anything flash based, even with the beta versions of Flash that use the GPU processing. However, this unit is the cats meow with the dual core atom. I have yet to find something that will not play. Ions platform with dual-core CPU is hard to beat for the money. This unit does the work and connects to my desk that holds my collection of videos. It should be noted that this unit has a wireless keyboard / mouse and wireless networks, while the non-1600. Oh, and if you can not find a way to connect your mouse / keyboard to the computer, open the battery compartment of the mouse and you will see the USB receiver connected to the side where the blocks go.

I purchased this product from CDW, because Amazon was not at the moment.

That said, I am delighted with its performance. I currently use it as a Media Center PC in my living room which is connected to a TV (HDMI) and a monitor (VGA).

The documentation includes a bit of light , but honestly, if you do not know how to connect some wires and press a button that does not need this equipment.

As for performance, I had no problems with it so far and in fact, the dual-core Atom as a better performance than expected. I suspect this is due to the dedicated video card. I can increase the amount of RAM (2 GB includes but is expandable to 4 GB), but atm I do not see a real need.

The included wireless mouse and keyboard are attractive and go very well with the team. They work very well for at least six feet (have not tried to go further).

My only complaint is that the VESA mounting brackets were not included in the time of purchase, although this may change.

This thing is almost perfect. He has been able to play all the videos I’ve thrown to it without missing a beat and is virtually silent to boot. This includes HD content all the way up to 1080P. The HDMI and VGA / Optical are perfect for connecting your home theater. It has lots of USB ports and one eSATA port for connecting external storage though personally hear all about the integrated wireless connectivity, you get excellent reception even though my router is on another floor. White, wireless keyboard and mouse large and rarely, if the movements of the drop. The keyboard is approximately 3 / 4 the size of a normal keyboard, which is perfect for HTPC use and can be hidden easily. Mine came with the VESA mounting kit to put on the back of a TV. The only thing not included that I added is a USB IR receiver to control it via remote control.

My complaints are minor. The responsiveness when browsing in Media Center is a bit slow 5400rpm hard drive is not the fastest there is.

In short, you can not beat this thing for the price.

Having had much success with my first netbook aa Ion Sony vaio power that works very quickly and smoothly on my wireless N network project, which was excited to find the Revo 3610 with more optimization for a HTPC. Part of my enthusiasm was N wireless mode in the package. I’ll get to that in a moment though.

The machine is a great combo of small size, reasonable price and nice components (HDMI and Nvidia The unadjusted real work perfectly appropriate, you just plug HDTV). But software is very poor to begin with. The bloatware is painfully heavy and disposal process, the machine constantly crashes, lag and give error messages, I now believe that the wireless network was partly to blame. Anyway, after getting very frustrated with a brick, close to done for all errors and locking up all programs and dreading the idea of returning to the default swollen, I bit the bullet and made a bootable USB Windows 7 and installed fresh Win 7. This worked like a charm and I recommend it and the creation of boot flash drive is simple, and now MS has a utility that will do it for you once you download the image file for Win 7. From there just reinstalled the NVIDIA drivers, Chrome, Hulu, Boxee, Flash 10 beta (supported by NVIDIA), Windows security and thats about it. Now, the machine was fast and clean again, problem solved !!!!! Or so I thought. . . . .

This left the terrible WIFI however, its only about 25 meters from the router and signal drop steadily, run well at speed N (the only B-type rates) and nothing makes the streams when the wireless card locks up acts. This is all in the same room where my vaio netbook has full signal, 97mb / s never drops the signal and is solid as a rock, but also works very well in and abotu 50 feet farther than the acer, no-problem type. So I tried one last effort before returning the steel, Wired to my LAN and ready! worked like a charm, now the team that was absolutely useless on the wirelss was almost as fast as my Core 2 Duo Desktop HD and played through Hulu and YouTube just fine without any problems.

; So I asked some cable wiring to my network to use as a HTPC. So the conclusion is that this is a great system but it took some effort to be truly unfettered by ACER as useless junk in it and loose all hope of even trying WIFI with it, is really the only component in Pathetic the machine, I’m very tempted to pull only the WIFI card so will not even think of trying to connect again.

Remember these two things and you will be happy with the ACER 3610
    1. Suppose WIFI doesn’t exist on your computer and you will be much happier!
    2. A new installation of Windows 7 is actually easier and faster than trying to clean the bloatware and errors that the machine arris of the action, I recommend doing this first and start fresh with a good set of software to run the hardware very Just nice!
